New Delhi / Male: India thwarted Pakistan's attempt to raise the Kashmir issue during the summit of the Chairmen of South Asia's Parliaments in the Maldives on Sunday. India said that Islamabad should put an end to all kinds of state support to terrorism as it is the 'biggest threat' to humanity. During this conference held in the Maldives Parliament, there was a heated argument between the representatives of the two countries. Representatives of South Asian countries were engaged in the conference.

Pakistani Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri in the National Assembly tried to raise the 'Kashmir issue' while discussing the 'Sustainable Development Goal' (SDG). India immediately cited the rules after which the presiding officer asked Suri to let the Indian representative and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh speak. But he (Suri) ignored it, which caused a ruckus. Harivansh reacted strongly and criticized Pakistan for raising the internal theme of India and giving political color to this platform.
Harivansh said, "We lodge a strong objection to raising India's internal subject on this platform." We also reject giving political color to this platform (by Pakistan) by raising issues outside the scope of the main theme of this conference. "He said that it is necessary for Pakistan to make all kinds of cross-border terrorism Stop giving state support in the interest of regional peace and security. Terrorism is the biggest threat to the entire humanity and the world today. "Therefore, any statement distributed here should not allow us to be unanimously part of the proceedings," said Harivansh.
Pakistani Senator Kurratulain Mari objected to Harivansh's remarks and said that SDGs for women and youth cannot be achieved without human rights. On this, Harivansh retorted that the country (Pakistan), which massacred its own people, has no moral right to speak on the issue of human rights. The Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha once again quoted the rule as saying, "Your Excellency, I want to ask, what moral right does this country have to raise the issue of human rights? The world knows how they (Pakistan) committed genocide in a part of their own country and that area is now a separate country called Bangladesh. "He said," Since they have raised the human rights issue in Kashmir ,
Harivansh said, "There are two areas in PoK, the so-called Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit Baltistan (GB), which was illegally occupied by Pakistan by armed action in 1947." He said, "Pakistan Has kept the people of this region confused about their status. He defrauded it as the President, Prime Minister and his own Legislature ... but the so-called AJK is neither a country nor a province till now. " - Fragmented Kashmir and brought more than 85 percent of its strategically important area under the direct control of Pakistan.
Amid the din, Speaker Nasheed tried to pacify both sides as the Pakistani representative was constantly being spoken. The Indian delegation was led by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Significantly, tensions between the two countries have increased after most of the provisions of Article 370 giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir were repealed and the state divided into two union territories. Pakistan has been constantly trying to raise this issue in various international forums, but India has been saying that this is an internal matter.
